Equipment & Rooms
Mann Library has a wide selection of equipment, rooms and lockers available to Cornell patrons for short term loan. Information on availability, access and policies is summarized below. See note at bottom for info on equipment support options.
Rooms & Lockers
Keys can be checked out at the first floor circulation desk with a Cornell ID. Dry erase marker kits and timers (both with 4 hour loan periods) are available for all of our study rooms. Please inquire about their availability at the circulation desk. Study Rooms and lockers are available on a walk-in, first come, first served basis. The Projector Room 260 is available for currently enrolled Cornell students to use in preparation for presentations, and may be reserved in advance for 2 hour blocks. Mann Library also has two large special purpose meeting rooms available for use by members of the Cornell community, by reservation only.
Lockers
There are two types of lockers available for loan. Keys for either can be checked out at the circulation desk.
- Laptop Lockers (first floor) have a standard loan period of 4 hours
- Book lockers (third floor) can be loaned out for a full semester.
Equipment
All items below can be checked out at the circulation (circ) desk located on the first floor of Mann Library. You can reserve any of these items (minus the laptops) by submitting a reservation request form. Please check availability calendar below before submitting requests. All items have a maximum loan period of 4 days (includes initial loan period and any granted extensions).
The additional equipment page lists other items, including peripherals, available on a walk-in basis only. Although Mann Library does not have a public fax machine, there are numerous free online fax services available as well as public fax machines scattered across campus; these are described on the Fax Services page.
Tripods are available as an accessory for any camera loan.

Limited support is available for equipment users. Manuals are available for cameras, GPS units and wireless mic (click item description in table above for links). Our tutorials and workshops may also be of use. Please submit a consultation request form if guidance is anticipated, and note the equipment and related software you wish to use. Depending on your needs and situation, specialized technology consulting support may also be available from Mann's IT consultants.
