Sony Wireless Microphone

The maximum loan period (including renewals) for this equipment is 4 days. Reservation requests can be made using the equipment reservation form. Availability can be checked on the equipment page.

  • There are basically four major pieces to this set: a transmitter, a receiver, a microphone and a microphone cable.
  • The transmitter and the receiver use a pair of AA batteries each (4 total). Make sure these are charged fully.
  • The subject (i.e. the speaker being filmed) can wear the transmitter either in a pocket or with the attached belt clip. The lavalier microphone plugs into the transmitter.

Here's how to attach the wireless mic receiver to the camera:

That's it! From this point, you'll need to adjust the sound levels on the microphone(s) that you plan to use. These settings and others (transmitter frequencies, etc.) are detailed in the operating instructions at right. These instructions include several models of wireless transmitter/ microphones and tuner/receivers. You are using the UTX-B1 transmitter and the URX-P1 tuner.
