Returning Items

Universal Returns on Campus

Many library items may be returned to any Cornell Library. During Library hours of operation items can be dropped off at the Mann Library's Circulation Desk (map it). After hours there are drop off bins located on south courtyard (map it) and in the tunnel (map it) between Mann Library and the Plant Science building.

Once checked in, a campus wide delivery system is used to return these items to their owning library. However, certain items must be returned directly to the owning library.

Items that may be returned to any library on campus:

  • Regular monographs (books)
  • Regular bound and unbound journals (1 or 3 day loans)

Items that must be returned to the owning library:

  • Course Reserves materials
  • Current periodical journals (2 hour loans)
  • Borrow Direct material
  • Interlibrary Loan items
  • Media
  • Manual loans
